LOVE YOUR CITY

This coming sunday (Feb 19) following our second service we will be meeting at Johnson Park here in our Atoka community for our next Love Your City Outreach. We will be working to continue to restore the park and help brighten things up a bit. Bring rakes, brooms, gloves, and any random tools you might need. We will be picking up trash, painting playground equipment, fixing swings, and a few other items that need to be addressed.

We are asking the entire church family to make a showing…1:30-3:30 is the time we are setting aside. We hope to see you there.

Thank You Victory Life Atoka

Recently we received an awesome thank you note from our local DHS for our recent involvement in the FOSTER FAMILIES CHRISTMAS PARTY.  We wanted to pass this a long to all of you who made the night a huge success.  Thank you so much for being a caring and giving church family.

“The Atoka County Department of Human Services and Child Welfare Staff would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity and hard work in sponsoring the wonderful Christmas party for our foster parents and children this year. Your commitment in helping accomplish our goal of having a Christmas for them to remember is greatly appreciated, and our sincere hope is that you will continue to support us annually in the spirit of Christmas. Again, thank you for your caring hearts, and your generous assistance!”

Weird Challenge

Today marked not only the beginning of a new year, but also the beginning of our new series “WEiRD”. What a great service. You can really feel the momentum that has been building the past few weeks. We had a great foster families Christmas party, a spectacular Christmas day special family service, and an awesome new years day service. Next week we get back to our regular service schedule with 2 Sunday morning services @ 9&11 am. We will be continuing our “WEiRD” series.

Today I laid out a WEIRD challenge for our church family: for the next 21 days I am challenging us to remove a couple of things from our life that might be taking time away from our relationship with our family – our church – and most importantly – our God. For some it may be tv or music or some kind of hobby. I am not telling you what to give up, but am praying that if you are willing to accept the challenge that God’s Holy Spirit will help you discover the things you are to give up. These may not be bad things, these may even be good things but they are things that are still robbing your valuable time from these priority areas of your life. I am not asking you to give them up for all eternity. Remeber “WEIRD PEOPLE” dont ask what can i do but instead ask what should i do”.

For a special start to this year I believe that God is asking us for more. Asking us to be a little bit weird. Weird in a God kind of way. Giving Him and our families alittle bit more of ourselves. I hope that you will accept the challenge and join with us as we prepare to see God do some weird things, open some weird doors, and lead is in a weird way this year.

Thank you for being a church of weird people. Totally weird in a GOD KIND OF WAY!!!

If you want to hear more about becoming weird pick up a copy of the message. I believe it will be a encouragement to you and your family!
