Having Problems With The Site?
Hey everyone!
This is just your everyday tech dude here to serve! I would love for you to comment here and let me know any issues that you are having and I’ll quickly try to resolve the situation! You may also use this post to check on any known issues and current workarounds for them.
Where Did My Profile Go?
If you joined our site within the first month or two of launch, you would have been given the opportunity to join the social network that we had built on this site. However, as time went on, this functionality wasn’t used and, at times, confusing for the end user. As of now, the social networking has been switched off on the site. In the event that it becomes a necessity to bring it back, then I will be able to turn the networking back on and all your old information should come back.
Watch Live
If you are having issues with watching our interactive service, then please read on! One of the main problems that people have when viewing the video player is that they don’t have Silverlight installed. Silverlight was created by Microsoft to counter Adobe’s Flash Media Player. Why do we use Silverlight over Flash? Silverlight has taken leaps and bounds towards bettering video quality and streaming. By choosing Silverlight, we are given the opportunity to utilize its feature called “Smooth Streaming.” This means that the Silverlight player will try its best to find you the best video quality without forcing you to buffer. This brings up another question! Sometimes your video may become very blurry or pixelated. There’s nothing wrong, just the smooth streaming feature doing its job. When your computer can’t handle a higher quality, it will drop you down to a more suitable quality based off your internet strength. Once it knows that you can handle more, it’ll ramp up to match that.
Chat
On our interactive service page, we also provide Chat functionality to give you the opportunity to connect with other Christians around the world. Be a part of corporate worship, and join in! All you have to do is type in a name in the login box, and you will be able to join in! You can use smileys, private messages, and a few other features while you are logged in! In the event that you don’t wish to be a part of the chat, all you have to do is do nothing! Don’t login to the chat window and you’ll be perfectly fine!

TY,
I am trying to watch the service live. I am unable it says bad file name or not encrypted right. I am unable to watch on my desktop or laptop. Please help, I want to be able to watch services.
There’s plenty of things that could cause that, so I’ll ask a few questions to try to help narrow it down.
- What browser are you using?
- What operating system are you using?
- Do you have Silverlight up to date, or installed?
- Is this with our stream here at http://www.myvictorylife.tv/watch-live ?
I was having difficulty with the link to online giving. I was just wondering if you were having difficulty or if it was something on my end?
Hello, Ron!!
The online link that I clicked here on the site works for me. This is where the link goes to,
https://www.dsheriff.org/secure/onlineGiving.aspx
You can try clicking and seeing if it’ll work here in the replies. If that still doesn’t work, try accessing http://www.dsheriff.org directly and try giving from that side.
If none of these work, then I have another question! What exactly is happening when you click on the link? What error comes up?
I would like to sign up to place a blog a week to this site. How do I do this
Wow, looks like the email notification script broke. Sorry for not replying earlier! If you are still interested in being a possible guest blogger, please email terri.weir@dsheriff.org.
