Four Rivers
Victory Life, Sherman has made a commitment to assist and be connected with this ministry – they are ministering to people with addictions, and seeing people set free as they are discipled.
5. Warriors of the Word Motorcycle Ministry – This outreach ministry is led by Keith Gower and its purpose is to reach out to the community, as well as fellowship together while being involved in riding motorcycles. This group has made a tremendous impact this past year, meeting needs with the Toys for Tots, as well as the Adopt a Family programs – raising money for Christmas present for needy children, as well as funds to send children to youth and children’s camp.
6. Revolution Youth – Cody and Caroline Furrh serve as our youth leaders over Sherman. Cody has great plans to expand the influence and impact of youth in Sherman area. Primary meeting time are Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. in the youth sanctuary. There are also small groups that meet throughout the week and are impacting the lives of teenagers in our area.
7. Children’s Church – This ministry is led by Ron Weatherly and is a fast-paced, fast-growing area of the church. We minister to the children and have children’s church every service. Because of this tremendous growth, the group has been divided into two smaller groups – first through third, and fourth through sixth grades. This change was made because of the number of children currently attending, and expectation of more growth. We also have a Super Sunday Slam Sunday – a Sunday night service to reach out to the community and draw in unchurched children and speak a salvation message to them.
8. Women’s Ministry – Keyia Peterson and Paula Kuykendall are leading this ministry, which reaches out to women in order to develop relationships with each other, as well as their relationship with the Lord. They do fundraisers to help with behind the scenes ministry to the body, as well as retreats and meetings designed specifically to minister to women.
9. Nursery – Led by Pam Almon, Kim McCusker and Denise Davis, this ministry had the largest growth of any area. We are looking for new ways to use their space – and is always needing Spirit-filled, committed volunteers to help minister to the little saints.
10. Praise and Worship – The praise team is led by Pastor Terry Brown, who is the elder over worship. The Lord is leading the body here at Sherman into new heights and new levels of worship with each service. Worship not only draws us together as a congregation, but it prepares our hearts to receive the implanted Word of God from our anointed ministers. The praise team is always looking for dedicated worshipers to join in.
11. Quilt Ministry – The Quilt Ministry is led by Shannon Fleming. They meet in the youth room every 2nd and 4th Friday. If you are interested in this ministry bring your sewing machine and join them! Their vision is for the hurting and include people in the hospital; or it can be a death in the family; or any other circumstance that might cause long term emotional pain. They also make quilts for babies that are dedicated here at the church.
12 . Refresh – This Women’s Ministry meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month in the Youth Room from 11am to 1pm. Childcare is provided on a donation basis.
